Background
The Fraser Valley is a collection of communities that sit in the valley that is formed by the Fraser River and surrounding mountains.
The cities and towns considered to be part of the Fraser Valley are home to around 296,000 people, making it a cozy little area of BC. Branding the Fraser Valley is about bringing people together in the community, and the best way to do this is to utilize the aspects of the area that everyone recognizes as home – the mountains, rivers, lakes, and farmland that create the valley. Using these as graphic elements gives everyone common ground to share the feeling of community.
Objective
The objectives for the project include creating a sense of community and generating more visitors to the area, while appealing to a wide audience. It’s also important to utilize imagery that is well known in the Fraser Valley and coming up with a design that fits the energy of the area, making the brand more recognizable with larger signage.
Audience
The target audience and market for this branding is primarily young people and families, from small children to people in their mid 30’s. These people are the future of the community and will be the most responsive to the branding and be most excited about it.
